The site has a couple of structures, the architect's house, chapel, pergola and pavilion zone, Atelier (art gallery), Loggia (semi-open arcade that the architect used as art-making space) The remaining site of 400 thousand sq.m. has rich vegetation with 3,500 species of Tropical and subtropical plants found out of which most of them are Brazilian native. 53 species named after him can be seen here! Peculiar features of landscape design are - A pop of color in the landscape to drive focus The layering of heights of plants to create foreground, midground & background. Texture arrangement to make spaces look larger or smaller. Using colors to define vivid moods and emotions in users in different zones A great place to study and experience the landscape in its raw, natural yet manicured form. Fazenda Capoava de Itu

Right from its core to the outermost layer was studied to understand its different properties. The material of the golf ball evolved through centuries to become more efficient and durable through trial-and-error process. The size and form of the ball decides the movement of the instrument with which the ball is being hit. Different physical aspects like the dimples on the ball are incorporated for getting a better flight while white color for visibility. Different positions and hand movement to swing the golf stick are based on the compressive strength of the material of the ball to cover the desired distance. This was studied through a free body diagram. Other factors affecting the materials are Temperature, aerodynamics, physical and chemical properties. The pitch or area of any game is based on the movement of the ball to its desired goal. The dress code for a golf game is designed to make the player feel comfortable and avoid any accidents during the game. Golf Ball

Dhaval Jain : : : : : : : : : : : The proposal attempts to bring people back into the light in the city. After a gray period, the damage caused by the explosion at Beirut, gives a chance to rethink the structure of the city. Contrasting to the earlier government centric and corrupt system, the city is being planned now in a way to bring the citizens to the center. Getting them together, providing them with better amenities and lifestyle and making them more aware of the same. Several public facilities have been designed along the sea-shore and at strategic points in the city to allow people leisure and public participation in the building of the city. Green patches have been reintroduced to the city through these patches. The cultural center acts as a built form that reflects the new city culture. It homes a wide range of functions and attracts people from a wide range of interests to occupy and move all around the building. The circular form allows the people to have a complete exterior view of the city and the court in the center attracts all the attention from all common balconies on each floor while the attached lawn provides informal seating and leisure spaces. Email Guide Semester Subject Student Name Sharayu Vinchurkar Architectural Representation and Detailing II Ar.Nikita Sharma sharayu20@aoamumbai.in Studio Conductors Ar. Rohit Karekar, Ar. Shivani Mehta, Ar. Anisha Mehta, Ar. Ronak Savla, Ar. Nikita Sharma : : : : : : : : : : : The graphic intends to convey the concept of the design for the given space. The design takes cues from the NIKE- mobile application. The space consists of different hexagonal cells each of which has a different experience. When a person looks at the space from outside, he can set a goal of what type of experience he wants. Out of these, the larger space is the common place where social interaction is the most prominent. People can sit or stand here and interact for a while. This place is accessible by jumping on the other cells, but one may also climb onto it directly from the ground. Thus, one can follow different ways to reach a particular goal cell. Hence the space is designed in a way to give a quick experience of social interactions and of setting goals. The graphic explains the same by means of repeating the elevation that would then portray different ways of interacting with the space designed. Previous Next Nike

Harshada shintre, Ar. Joel Roy, Ar. Amey mhatre : : : : : : : : : : : Through the course of this exercise the students had to study various pavilions that have been installed around the world. The pavilion assigned to me was the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion 2002 by Toyo Ito, Cecil Balmond and Arup. The main aim of the design of this pavilion was to transform the most ordinary spatial form, a cuboid, to something extraordinary. The architects used a network of lines and velocities to criss-cross through the Pavilion’s box shape. A specially developed algorithm was used to construct the structure of the pavilion: half to a third of adjacent sides of the square, which quickly resulted in a pattern of many crossings. The lines and crossings became supportive steel blades, and a checkered pattern of glass and aluminum panels added to the sharpness of form. I have studied this pavilion through drawings of plans, elevations and sections, that have been derived by the above mentioned algorithm. Previous Next Understanding Architecture: Pavilion 2

Aniruddha Nafrey : : : : : : : : : : : The main aim of the design is to create workstations for both, Shah Diamonds and Digital Marketing, in the same office space. The space has been planned such that the offices get maximum privacy, and a user would pass by all common areas before reaching the offices, including a semi - open cafeteria and the display area of the Shah Diamonds along the passageway, before approaching a common spot, which clearly indicates the entrances to the two offices. The main demarcation of spaces is by the theme of colours chosen for the offices. The Shah Diamonds office assumes a grey theme, since the diamonds in the scrutinising area would be easily identified in contrast, and it also blends the carpet colour for sound proofing. The Digital Marketing adopts a white and bright showy colour theme, which also supports the usage of curved walls in the layout. Each space has a separate pastel colour assigned to it. The common areas adopt a brown and yellow theme, with most elements in various types of wood. Shah Diamonds and PR Marketing

Rishit Jain, Ar. Rohit Karekar, Ar. Shilpa Daga, Ar. Jay Mali : : : : : : : : : : : This is a compact 1 BHK sea view apartment in Goa. The client lives with her husband and a 10-year-old daughter. The objective was to design a minimalist living space for 3 people, incorporating their daily requirements and interests. The apartment has been reimagined, allowing the overlay of spaces in the kitchen, living room and bedroom. Similarly, a strategically placed wardrobe divides a flowing space into two rooms, a bedroom for the client’s daughter, affording both storage space and privacy. The porous partition wall at the entrance is multifunctional. It allows for showcasing of the family's antique collection and at the same time creates a subtle demarcation between the workspace and living room. The design of the open balconies ensures restorative space for relaxing and recharging. The use of a pastel shade like blush pink makes the space feel fresh and modern while pairing it with a stronger shade like blue creates a great contrast. White along with tones of blues and grays complement the splendid sea view and tie the colors together, creating a sense of calm. The lush plants add greenery to the space. Warm Elegance

Previous Next Yama Bhavan (Top 50) Email Semester Competition Name Student Name Aayush kapse Archdais House 2.0 IV aayush19@aoamumbai.in : : : : : : : : Competition Brief: The aim of the competition was to design an ideal home which challenges the participants to rethink the basic functions of a house. Narrative: The house was made for a working business based Mumbai family who wanted the feel of a village. THE PRINCIPLES OF PLANNING ARE BASED ON ‘YAMA’ WHICH ACCORDING TO HINDU SCRIPTURES IS THE ACT OF PRACTICING RESTRAINT OR CONSCIOUS CONTROL. The idea was to create a spatial formulation which would help each and every member of the family to have their own sense of individualistic spaces which would be connected with each other in a very playful manner. The house was to be a part of a retreat for the family in the pandemic times to be stationed somewhere near the main city, but still be away from the “fast” life of the city. To give a desired earthen look to the building, mud based wattle and daub architecture was adopted. The multipurpose roof surfaces are used for circulation, relaxation and ways to separate activity blocks.

Narrative: The city of Jaipur is known for its architecture, which is dominated by the Indian Vastu ideologies. In response to the brief, we designed a coworking and co-living space that provides guests with both a modern and traditional Jaipur stay. The construction is designed in such a way that the exterior will fascinate the Jaipuri sandstone jali look, while the interior will offer the individual a nice, warm, homely feeling through the use of modern interior design and homely internal décor of the dorms, 2 bhks, and loft apartments. We designed the structure with passive cooling measures in mind, and we included a wind tower as a natural venting agent. All of the spaces were designed with the Vastu and Jaipur regulations in mind. The outward appearance is simple yet Jaipuri; the use of graffiti on the outer facade symbolizes a free-spirited lifestyle with no restrictions, resulting in joyous behavior. Simple but enthralling!!
