Saurabh Mhatre, Ar. Harshada Shintre : : : : : : : : : : : This studio addresses the Geometric nature of the world around us and takes radical steps to help identify the same. These inferences are then decoded in a drawing format to generate a critical conversation governing the visual language all around us. I explored certain grid patterns and tried to create a hybrid from those 'generating complex' patterns. Thus, we were introduced to a set of 3 illustrations that each focus on the technical (figure building), spatial (landscape), and social (occupational event) aspects of spaces. I selected the Hejduk Diamond Museum for the figure building, Neue National Gallery as the landscape element, and Ice Hockey as the occupational event. Resonating these three aspects along with the hybrid grid generated, I juxtaposed all four elements to finally ideate on a representational medium that captures this particular GRIDSCAPE. Saurabh Mhatre, Ar. Harshada Shintre : : : : : : : : : : : The Exercise Leads On Making Various Geometric Grids Using Existing Grids Created By Artist. The Four Hybrid Grids Are Made Using The Base Grids Of Ann Thorncroft, Kapitza And Lionel March. Each Of The Hybdrid Grid Has A Logic Of Picking Elements From One Grid And Repetition Pattern From Another Grid. This Led To Formation Of Several Patterns Using The Same 3 Base Drawings. The Final Grid Drawing- Cityscapes, Is A Illustration Of One Of These Hybrid Grids And 3 Illustration Of O M Ungers, Ian Leonidov And Notes Of Eno Music. The Final Grid Is A Illustration Of A Typical City Scape With Builtforms Of Various Scales, Vegetation, A River Cutting Along The City And The Roads. The Roads Hold The Notes Of Music Indicating The Events Or Life Happening In The City. Previous Next Taxonomy Of Grids 7

Narrative: A Wellness center is a very essential part for people in this urban society due to the integrated health solutions they provide to both mind and body. Location plays a very important part in the making of any wellness center. Here, our location is the city of Alappuzha in the state of Kerala, India. As this city is located near the waterfront, it creates the perfect setting along with the tropical climate. It is a place with less amount of population that adds up to the beauty of the site and the overall motive of this project. We start with the basic idea of proposing such spaces that respond to such a setting and are designed to allow the maximum amount of natural light and ventilation. All the buildings are centered with a courtyard and many green pockets that create breathing space and a kind of openness in the plot. There is an emphasis on earthy elements such as the use of stone, timber, natural fences. The horizontal expanse of the structure is well balanced with the verticality of the planes formed by the diverse vegetation. We are also proposing congregation spaces for users where they could get some hands-on experiences and help them connect more with nature. Along with this, things like comfort, accessibility, and aesthetics are equally paid attention to. The path gradients are very carefully calculated to minimize fatigue and provide subtle pause points. Gardens are proposed to encourage walking as a form of exercise and act as a barrier from urban noise and smoke.

Rohit Karekar, Ar. Pranay Bhavsar, Ar. K.V.Parmeshwar : : : : : : : : : : : The Project puts forward a challenge of detailing a shell (originally a masonry vault) in Structural Steel. This material opens up a broad range of design choices and exploration with the structural systems. The structure rests on a foundation which consists of abutments for the shell and isolated footings of the stanchions interconnected to form a strong resilient foundation. The Columns are placed in such a way that with beams it facilitates the making of the flowy mezzanine. The shell has structural members from edge lamella to primary, secondary forming a square grid. The alternate roofing of G.F.R.C. panels and glass panels flood the space with light and create a transcedental space quality. The staircase takes advantage of rolled steel sections to create a curved cantilevered staircase connecting the levels. The Project also explores Urine Diverting Dry Toilets across Two levels and resolves the waste management and segregation. The byproducts are used in the farms on the site itself. The roof drainage is catered to with a rain water collection puddles which harvest water and take it to the harvesting tank. Thus the structural technology creates an iconic image for the school at the same time generates products beneficial to the school. Undulating Envelope

Ronak Savla : : : : : : : : : : : Architecture and Politics are two sides of the same coin. The architecture of an era gives us an in-depth insight into the political and cultural fabric of the society in those times. The desire of the early rulers to dominate and leave a lasting impression manifests itself in the architecture of those times. Starting from the division of northern India into 16 Mahajanapadas and the co-existence of the Chera, Chola and Pandya dynasty in the south, the period from 550 BC to 0 AD is one marked with tumult across the land of India, from mass religious conversions to the burning down of monasteries. Rivalries and alliances resulted in many architectural interventions, some of which, like the Kallanai Dam, or the Grand Anicut Canal, are still in use today in perfect condition. Our country's national emblem also belongs to this era, exemplifying the impact left for generations on politics and architecture. Architecture and Politics (550 B.C - 0 A.D)

Esha Tipnis, Ar. Rishit Jain, Ar. Rohit Karekar, Ar. Shilpa Daga, Ar. Jay Mali : : : : : : : : : : : Rohit is a food enthusiast who turned into a home chef in the 2020 pandemic. He lives with his wife and house help, who helps him in his business. His profession and their minimalistic yet traditional thoughts largely shaped the character of the spaces. The kitchen opened up to the dining area, creating the heart of the house. The kitchen accommodates his needs of having a space for online workshops with proper lighting. Their friends can enjoy Rohit’s delicacies in the dining area or hang out on the balcony while enjoying the sea view. The temporary setting for the maid forms her own space without impeding their privacy. The bedroom has a calm mood, with the bed being a blend of brass leg ends and intricate columns. The bathroom follows a similar theme of minimalism broken by patterned backsplash tiles. Slight curves break the minimalism and tie everything together. Overall, the minimalist and traditional elements coalesce into a distinctive character added to the home. Coalesce
