The painting selected for the brief is 'Triptych Speed'. It is a series of 3 paintings made by artist Gerardo Dottori as part of the futurism art movement. Dottori's work is characterized by the use of strong colors, especially red and blue placed against a range of landscape greens that underscore the sense of rapid flight. The use of a splintered, dynamic vocabulary of form evokes an intoxicating sense of speed. 'Triptych speed' is a classic example of the same. Done in three parts, it represents the beginning, the path and the arrival.

At first glance, the structure appears quite brazen which overwhelms the user as does the painting. But a closer look will make one realize the simplicity of its navigation. An enormous entrance greets the user which leads to an open to sky area. This coupled with the semi circular trusses make the spatial quality quite celebratory and public. The structure further leads to a semi covered area with a tinted glass skylight. Light plays an important role in the painting which has been reflected in the structure as well. The structure ends with a narrow opening giving one the sense of exclusivity while they come out.
